Writing a story about somebody writing a story. Can't be much simpler than that.

My new book Flesh of the Muse is now officially published and ready for online purchase! I will post the respective link later. :-)

Eternity

Can be forever

Eternity

Can mend

Two together

For always

Always

Keeps

Never look

Behind

The distance

All that matters

Is eternity

I want to write a story about a man who is obsessed with peanut butter. Or maybe a story about a woman who is dumped by her fiance then decides to open up a candy shop. Or maybe some kind of romantic comedy type novel. I suppose I could write a really heart-wrenching novel about people losing their faith in themselves. Or a story about someone inspiring others to pursue their dreams and ambitions. So many possibilities out there and inside my head.

Went to my local library today and checked out two fairly interesting poetry books. I believe my taste in literature has expanded exponentially without my even knowing. I also checked out some movies (yes, the library has current dvd titles for free rental). One movie is titled The Fighter and stars Mark Wahlberg and Christian Baile. It's essentially a basic up and coming/underdog boxing tale. It's not as bad as I thought it would be.

In other news, I just revised my short novel The Sofa That Ate Everyone. I lowered the price and added a preview of my next book The Thing In The Desert. I updated the preview on the Home page of my site as well. I've also been busy working on a new poetry/short story collection. It will include lots of very new, fresh poetry and some other collected works such as An Almost Notion, Antiseptic Anarchism and possibly Momentous. I haven't decided on an absolute inclusion yet but I do know that it will include all of the shorts I've written so far and even a couple of unfinished ones. Oh and I would also like to include some really great photos of different artistic interpretations. I'll probably add those after the rest of the collection is complete. The title I've come up with so far is Flesh of the Muse. Be on the look out and check back here often. :-)

Brunette

Upset the brunette

She doesn’t like

To be alone

She only loves herself

And that’s no joke

She isn’t very beautiful but

She tries

Currently dissecting my poetry. Breaking it down into its basic elements. Truth be known... I haven't the faintest clue what I'm doing but I persist. Also just created/self-published a paperback version of my poetry e-book Momentous. It is available on lulu.com. If anyone would like to purchase a copy please leave me a comment or what not; at your leisure. Sometime in the near future I will be more selective about what work I post for free download.

 Keep on keepin' on.

Went to my local library yesterday. I usually make it a point to go once a week; sometimes twice. I've started to become interested in screen plays. Not just reading them but also becoming familiar with their structure and dialogue. I believe it is slightly easier to write a screenplay than a novel. Mostly because a screen play focuses on dialogue and a novel tends to focus on descriptive narrative. I recently read the screen play A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams and found it to be a bit over dramatic but it does contain some great dialogue. I think I mentioned in an earlier post that I have been toying with my own screen play idea. So far it is under the working title Because I Said So and it is a simple fish out of water type story. The main character, Van Confucius Schwartz, is an aspiring writer and is tired of his work going unrecognized in the small Texas town he grew up in. He makes plans to attend a writing/journalism school in New York and inevitably has to deal with the varied reactions about his leaving home from his friends, relatives and girlfriend. Oh and I also set it sometime during the early 1990's. I guess it does seem promising so far. I would actually love to see some local theater group act it out once it is complete. I believe people need to see more original plays nowadays. There are too many big budget movies bombarding our senses on a daily basis.

I will post a preview of my screenplay soon. Maybe in the next week. :-)

My third self-published poetry book/e-book will be titled An Almost Notion. I suppose I got the idea from many current events that are taking place right now which pertain to wall street, the stock market, the criminality of banks and overall lack of compassion from many government agencies. People still seem to have this notion of a just and fair government that always takes care of the average citizen. In all actuality that is not the case.

The book/e-book itself is coming along swimmingly. I am doing my best to make sure it conveys a lot of raw emotion and passion. I'd like it to be even grander than my previous poetry book Momentous but I'm not going to push for it too much. Or should I? We shall wait and see. Oh and I am still plugging away at my novel The Thing In The Desert. I believe I am coming upon a critical point with each character. Something very pivotal will surely develop out of it. As soon as I have completed another couple of chapters I will post an e-book preview for all to enjoy.

Today's question: Which do you do more often? Watch television or read a good novel?

This is the first post of my new blog on my new site. I suppose it is a bit momentous. I'll do my best to blog something new daily here and keep potential fans/readers informed on my continuous journey as a writer. Maybe I'll post a few jokes or snappy quips. Or maybe some interesting polls? Who knows. The sky is the limit. I'll start by asking a simple question each day.

Today's question: What is your favorite color?
